Movies

Our movie page is up and running. Check out the Lonely One video, a Bengt Olav film. We also decided to post a film made by Ole Reidar, the song playing in the background is a raw mix of Tired Of Rock And Roll, a track on our forthcoming album. Ole made this film 2am after working in our studio while he was trying to decide whether he should go home or out dancing.

Friday Maria Aano Reme and The List got their Kulturbonus, a prize given to culture acts in Stavanger. We both got a beautiful artwork made by Pia Myrvold and a money prize. It was totally unexpected and we couldt be happier.

Thanks.

A New Friend

IMG_0385We just had a great week at Bekk Studio recording a new song for our next release, this song was recorded, mixed, produced, by Erik Braund.

It's been great working with Erik,  "I dare say, we had one of the most successful collaborations I've ever had. We were on the same page from the get-go. Refreshing, inspiring", words from Erik's blog and I couldn't agree more.

We ended this week performing at Martinique in front of a great audience, playing the new song live for the first time.
Now its back to our studio to finish our album.

This week we're enjoying three fun days at Bekkstudio in beautiful Nærland, recording with Erik Braund, one of three students from the Clive Davis department of recorded music of the New York University spending the week here in Stavanger. Visit their blog at http://remunorway.blogspot.com.

Sterling Sound, Battery Studio and Masterdisk

Today was the day to visit some great mastering studios. Sterling Sound, Battery Studio and Masterdisk are all among the greatest mastering studios around. Dave McNair and Chris Athens at Sterling Sound talked about what they do in a mastering studio, the numerous ways of approaching different projects, and how they use their equipment.

We met some great people with a lot of knowledge at every studio. Much talk about vintage equipment and mastering techniques, so it was a great day for Ole Reidar.

Tomorrow, jam session with the Bomb Squad.

Cheers

Sear Sound

Walter Sear, owner of Sear Sound Studio
After spending Monday night at the National Underground drinking soda-pops and talking politics with Gavin DeGraw, we went back to our apartment in SoHo for a good night sleep.

Tuesday morning we went to legendary Sear Sound studio. Walter Sear gave us the story of the studio and showed us around. He is the owner of one of the greatest recording studios around, and the oldest one in New York.

Tonight we´re going to meet Erik Braund, to talk about next weeks studio session.
