About the Event
Cinematic music with powerful melodic flair, inspired by old Norwegian-American Murder and Cowboy ballads. Trond Kallevåg: Guitar, Pedalsteel guitar and electronics Mats Eilertsen: Double bass and electronics Gard Nilssen: Drums and percussion The title "Minnesota" refers to the state in the USA where many Norwegian emigrants settled in the 19th century. The United States had a great attraction for those who did not fit in, and for Trond the name represents both the lawless and the dream of security and freedom. The music continues on Trond's two previous critically acclaimed records "Bedehus & Hawaii" and "Fengselsfugl" which were strongly inspired by old shilling songs that were popular in environments that stood next to the established. This time Trond has found inspiration in the state of Minnesota and, among other things, old American Murder and Cowboy ballads that were popular in the 19th century. "Trond Kallevåg has created exceptionally personal and beautiful music once again" (5/6 - Nettavisen (2021)
