Norwegian children are said to be born with skiis on their feet, so no wonder Kids Ski Day happens every year. First held in 1993, it has become a winter tradition for thousands of children and their families.
Around two and a half thousand children take part, with an estimated 10,000 spectators cheering them on as they race around the 1997 World Cup arena in Granåsen.
With five tracks ranging from 200m to 10km, it is suitable for children of most ages and abilities.
The full program has not been released at the time of writing, but it promises to be a fun-filled event with entertainment and activities happening throughout the day.
All children taking part need a start number, which can be purchased via Barnas Skidag’s website www.barnasskidag.no
